Nigeria National Client Interviewing & Counselling Skills Competition Profile
The Nigerian National Client Interviewing & Counselling Skills Competition is hosted annually by the Network of University Legal Aid Institutions (NULAI) Nigeria. It is held at the end of December or at the beginning of January each year. Over 32 law faculties and campuses of the Nigerian Law School have taken part in the annual event since its inception in 2006.

2025
The Network of University Legal Aid Institutions (NULAI Nigeria) organised the 19th edition of the Nigerian National Client Interviewing and Counselling Skills Competition on January 22, 23 and 25, 2025 with 15 Teams in a virtual format. The preliminary rounds were held on January 22 & 23, while the semi-final and final rounds took place on January 25. The competition theme was on 'Consumer Contracts'.
Fifteen (15) teams from across 15 Law Faculties/Law Clinics participated in the competition. The teams included: Ahmadu Bello University, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Baze University, Edwin Clark University, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Prince Abubakar Audu University, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Ebonyi State University, Nasarawa State University, University of Abuja, Ambrose Alli University, Saudu Zungur University and Caleb University.
Six (6) teams representing -- Ahmadu Bello University, Baze University, University of Abuja, Ebonyi State University, Prince Abubakar Audu University, Caleb University -- qualified from the preliminary rounds and moved to the semi-finals where Ahmadu Bello University, Ebonyi State University and Prince Abubakar Audu University qualified for the finals. At the end of the final round, Ebonyi State University -- the defending champions -- finished in the 1st position, while Prince Abubakar Audu University and Ahmadu Bello University finished in the 1st and 2nd runners-up positions respectively.
With this result, the Team from Ebonyi State University -- comprising Onyejiaka Emmanuel & Okoh Joshua Chinazaekpere -- is qualified and will represent Nigeria at the 2025 Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition which will be hosted at the University of Glasgow, Scotland from 9-12 April 2025.

2024
The 2024 National competition was held in a virtual format on Zoom on January 17, 18 and 25, 2024. The winners of the 2024 national competition who represented Nigeria at the 2024 ICCC were Cynthia Ibor and Goodness Itumo from the Ebonyi State University.
