England & Wales
The England & Wales Client Interviewing Competition has been in existence for 40 years since being started by (the now) Sir Geoffrey Bindman QC and Professor Avrom Sherr. Over 30 law schools take part each year with regional and final events being held in February and March. In recent years we have adopted a hybrid mode with some events in person and some online.
The competition is run by a committee of law academics from different law schools. There are four Co-Chairs: Graham Robson (Legal Skills Consultant), Professor Julie Price (Cardiff University), Dr Matthew Parry (Swansea University) and Johanne Thompson (University of Kent). Graham is the National Representative for England and Matthew is the National Representative for Wales.
The top English and top Welsh teams take part in the international competition. In 2023 in Maastricht, Emma Layton and Hadley Middleton from Swansea University reached the semi-finals whilst Tom Eyles and Steph Haynes from Oxford Brookes University finished third overall.
Full details about the competition can be found on our website at clientinterviewing.com. You can contact Graham at grahamrobson@clientinterviewing.com. You can contact Matthew at matthewparry@clientinterviewing.com.
